This week, GeekDad's resident family gaming expert Andy Roberstson has followed numerous newspaper, magazine and radio articles here in the UK with a segment on BBC One's primetime evening program, The One Show.

In the short segment embedded above, Andy was asked to help out and offer some advice to a typical family, whose two boys both had consoles in their bedrooms, and to their mother, who was concerned about the amount of time they spent playing games, often ones targeted at much older ages.

Andy's advice is simple and practical - bringing the consoles into the family room and getting everyone involved, and also using the consoles' built-in controls to limit play time and game ratings. You can find out more about his Family Gamer project on YouTube, follow them on Twitter or read all of his posts about videogames for the whole family here on GeekDad.
