In case you haven't noticed, Disney XD manages to squeeze a lot of cool little tidbits in between its shows – and I'm not talking about the commercials.
A while back, we mentioned that the net was running a series of interstitials to promote reading. They also do the same thing with science and a series called What Would It Take? Hosted by Radio Disney's Morgan Tompkins, each of these shorts takes a peek at the science and modern technology that would be needed to create the Marvel heroes' gadgets, tech and other super abilities in real life.
Now, you may have missed it because they don't run What Would It Take? every week. However, it is running this week. It's also one that you won't want to miss.
This week, Tompkins welcomes molecular biologist Dr. Randy Lewis and the two will talk about spider silk, which is actually one of the strongest fibers known to man. Sound familiar? If not, you need to take a peek at the clip below – and possibly increase your Spider-Man intake.
What Would It Take? airs Sundays during Marvel Universe on Disney XD. Check out this week's installment on February 17, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. (ET/PT) during Marvel Universe on Disney XD.
