This glowing blue column is a high tech marvel with even higher aspirations. It's a water filtration system unlike any you've seen.
Zuvo Water reduces harmful contaminants while preserving water's healthy mineral content. It does so using biomimicry in a unique five step process intended to replicate the way nature refreshes spring water in the ground and rainwater in the atmosphere. They've launched an Indiegogo campaign to introduce Stratus, what they're calling the "world's first intelligent faucet and cloud-connected water filtration system."
Wi-fi built into the Zuvo system links to an app so your smartphone can display the contaminants reduced in your water, remaining life of your filter, daily rate of water consumption in your household, even coach you to reach your hydration goals. The faucets themselves are innovatively designed, each showing filter status with intuitive LED lights.
Zuvo is also customizing to provide specific filters for different regions of the country, based on an expanding national water-quality database. Zuvo buyers can collaborate in this database by sending their own water in for testing, a perk also offered at the $30 level Indiegogo funding level (and higher).
Many of us already use some kind of filter for our water, but Zuvo is significantly different. Here are a few ways.
- Zuvo is the only self-cleaning filter system. Water passes twice through UV and ozone treatment, preventing bacterial film from growing on the filter and contaminating the water as it can do in pitcher and other filtering devices.
- Zuvo is significantly more cost effective compared to pitchers and other filter systems.
