Yesterday we started voting on your top Sci-fi TV shows of all time. That voting is still going on. Today we start voting the world of fantasy. We are trying to find the our reader’s favorite fantasy TV shows of all time. Keep in mind, that while whether you like the show or not is important, you should also consider the show’s effect on the community at large, whether it influences the genre as a whole. That’s not the same as popularity, though. A show could be very influential, yet never have become popular, at least while it was on television. I think about this quote from music producer Gary Smith about the Velvet Underground sums it up: “not a lot of people bought their albums, everyone who did started a band.” The same is true of a lot of sci-fi and fantasy TV as well, Star Trek being the poster child for this phenomena.
So, with that in mind, we present the nominations for top fantasy TV show. You can check up to 10 TV shows off (sorry, you will have to keep track yourself), and then you can see the results.
