The Monitor Is Dreaming of a Not-Quite-White Christmas

This week The Monitor is all about how we’ll be spending our Christmas: watching Django Unchained.

That is my chant. I’ve been waiting for Django Unchained ever since I first heard that Quentin Tarantino was making a biopic of a jazz guitarist and then realized I was mistaken. I’ve been waiting for this movie so long, in fact, that I skipped an advance screening last week so that I could experience it in a real theater, on Christmas Day, the way it’s clearly meant to be seen. So no, I haven’t seen it. But these people have, so if you really don’t trust me, trust them.

Of course, if you don’t trust me, why are you watching The Monitor? Don’t answer that. Instead, just watch this week’s episode, where we clue you in to the punniest comic being written today and an all-new season of Billy Eichner’s hilarious Billy on the Street. (Though I should point that the new season actually began two weeks ago, so maybe you shouldn’t trust me after all.)
