Zombie fans have been waiting a long time for World War Z, but perhaps the scads of ravenous ghouls in the film’s first teaser will make up for that.
Originally set to be released next month, the film’s opening weekend was pushed back to June 2013 and the flick faced various problems and rewrites. At one point, it really started to feel like the adaptation of Max Brooks’ novel could be the Duke Nukem Forever of zombie films. (OK, maybe that’s extreme. But still.)
Now, zombie fiends are finally getting their first taste of the Brad Pitt-starring flick. So far it’s just an Entertainment Tonight tease (above) of footage that’s set to be released Thursday, but at this point we’ll take it. (At least it shows more than the film’s new poster — below — which really doesn’t show anything.) Also, holy crap, there are a lot of zombies in this footage. Like, rolling piles of zombies. Like, Paramount-spent-more-on-extras-than-Pitt levels of zombies. (OK, maybe that’s extreme, too. But still.)
Director Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) seems to have gone all-in. We’ll know more when the full World War Z trailer is released.
P.S. Just imagine what the polls would look like today if zombies could vote. Just imagine.
