Unemployed Big Bird was great. Binders Full of Women? Even better. But for the just-completed election cycle, statistics guru Nate Silver is the meme that keeps on giving.
In the latest installment, comedian Andy Cobb and Second City have pulled together a spoof video that shows why Silver got drunk after nailing the outcome of the presidential election. (If you didn't catch it already, that was a meme in and of itself.)
The video breaks down how Silver rose from obscure Chicago numbers guy to statistical powerhouse of the 2012 election. "This year when people thought 'Ohio-predictive analytical models' they thought 'Nate fucking Silver,'" fake Nate Silver's voiceover bellows. "Now, I'm a star."
Naturally, celebrity has its drawbacks, and it's revealed that knowing the future has driven Silver to drink – he claims to have a bar stocked by MSNBC's resident cocktail enthusiast Rachel Maddow – and to consume other substances. (This act itself has a statistical model, called the "Lohan Curve" in the video).
Will Silver be able to survive the curse of knowing the future? Watch above to find out.
