There are many ways to kick the bucket. This may well be your last blog experience before you get a heart attack or get run over by some crazy drunk driver.
DIY Spaceflight is far from a safe hobby. Not even government spaceflight is safe. The statistics are quite bad actually, but in my opinion still no near stupidity. The payback of adventure, exploration and knowledge is far greater and keeps me going.
We would not be doing this if we did not believe it would be reasonable safe, but death seems to be in focus for many people discussing the project with us. And journalists love this topic!
So, let’s talk about dying and the many ways to go. I have compiled a top 10 list of possible horrible deaths rated by various features (1-10) such as:
Pain (how much pain is felt?)
Time (for how long are you suffering?)
Brutality (how much overall body damage?)
Visual (will it look spectacular?)
