TableTop Celebrates Halloween Early With a Last Night on Earth

When night begins to fall on the sleepy, rural town of Woodinvale, the shadows and fog rolling in bring with them more than just a chill shiver. A living nightmare erupts as the once peaceful community is overrun with the restless dead ... scratching and clawing their way to the surface with an insatiable hunger for human flesh.

Now only a handful of unlikely Heroes are left, banding together to fight for their very lives. On a night that never ends, the only thing worse than death ... is becoming infected.

That's the introduction for the game Last Night on Earth, a zombie board game with so much creepy atmosphere, the game ships with a CD containing its own soundtrack. Last Night on Earth does such a good job creating the feeling of impending doom, creating spine-tingling chills, and inducing cardboard-based panic that it only makes sense that it's the game of choice for the Halloween edition of Geek & Sundry's Tabletop.

The episode features Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome (of the comedy-folk duo Garfunkle and Oates) plus Felicia Day (of everything awesome). Wil Wheaton and Felicia team up as the zombie horde trying to kill Kate and Riki before they escape in the truck, one of five scenarios in the game.

While Last Night on Earth is not a role-playing game, someone forgot to tell the players – everyone gets into character, fleshing out the back stories and generally having an awesome time with this very thematic adventure game. Felicia's backstory for her tragic zombie doctor evolves into its own paranormal romance story!

Wil does his best to try to kill the humans, but it didn't help that he was essentially fighting by himself since Felicia is caught up in her zombie love story. It's a hysterical episode and perfect for Halloween.

Bonus: Check out TableTop Associate Producer, Boyan Radakovich’s top tips for playing Last Night on Earth:

  • Don't underestimate the baseball bat for zombie defense
  • Never, ever, ever under any circumstances whatsoever, leave the truck!
