On tonight’s episode of Gravity Falls Is the Smartest Cartoon on Television " href="https://more-deals.info/geekdad/2012/09/5-reasons-gravity-falls/%22%3EGravity Falls we discover that this quaint Oregon town has yet another plot-specific quirk. This time it includes warm-weather trick-or-treating, Jack-o-Melons and, of course, a villain du jour: the dreaded Summerween Trickster. Mystery Shack staffer, amiable sidekick and occasional DJ Soos explains the necessary back-story in this clip:

And since Alex Hirsch and his owntwin sister served as the inspiration for the series’ Mystery Twins, I did a little digging to find out what sorts of crazy Halloween costumes the creator wore in his younger days. The response was… telling:

When I was 12 I was “myself” for Halloween. It was pretty complicated. I laminated my class photo to make a mask of my own face. Then I found a brown wig that looked just like my hair and wore jeans over my regular jeans and a t-shirt over my regular T-shirt. I thought I was hilarious! Nobody got it.

And the weirdest part is I don’t even think he’s joking.
