New Logic3 Headphones: I May Become an Audiophile

I've never been one to make a big deal out of how I hear my music. For me it has always been about the story and the words and a nice tune. Perhaps it was my perforated ear drum that I got from a stray elbow on a high school basketball court (I wasn't even in the game)...

I've never been one to make a big deal out of how I hear my music. For me it has always been about the story and the words and a nice tune. Perhaps it was my perforated ear drum that I got from a stray elbow on a high school basketball court (I wasn't even in the game), or perhaps it is just my lack of attention to detail (just ask the GeekDad editors about that in regards to my posts). All that said, I may have just been converted to audiophile.

As my introduction suggests, I have nothing really to compare the Ferrari by Logic 3 headphones too, but what struck me about these headphones was the silence. Not the silence of what was being played, but the silence from the world around me. I could happily have my iPhone audio set at a low setting (2 or 3 bars) and when usually this would result in the sound of the world outside mixing with the audio in my ears, with the Logic3 headphones this was not the case. I guess the offer here is that you get the quality and refinement of the Italian brand in a set of cans for your ears. The silky PR copy reads as such:

The Ferrari Cavallino Collection, with premium textures and materials, is influenced by the emotive driving experience of Ferrari’s timeless GT road cars. On the sportier side of things, the Scuderia Ferrari Collection takes its design cues from the competition, speed, and technological innovation of the F1 team.

And, as much empahasis has been put into the design of the packaging and case to hold these beauties. And, given the price tag of $299 you want something that is robust enough to look after these headphones while you are in transit. They became, for my 3 week trial a great accessory for my digital life. I used them across my PC, laptop, phone and tablet. They held up well in gaming environments and provided a new level of immersion that I'd not experienced.

Consider me a little more audiophile than I was before.

Wired: A fine audio experience that cancels noise beautifully

Tired: The design is really for lovers of cars (Farrari's in particular)
