Well, they’re back to deliver on that promise with V/H/S — directed by a bunch of dudes, starring nobody you’ve ever heard of. That just might be the point of found-footage horror: Ambiguity and realism! Some movie critics feel this genre of horror needs to crawl back into the pretentious crypt whence it came, but Dayrit and Crucchiola argue, “Nay, long live found footage!”
