First, thanks for your POTW comments in the past few weeks! Judd and I are trying to get a feel for the types of puzzles we all like, and then include a nice mix. Keep the suggestions coming! As for this week's puzzle, here it was:

Imagine there are red-breasted, green-faced, orange-elbowed, puce-shouldered and mauve-pantsed birds, named bush-tits, lordcocks, shags, foliage-gleaners, and tremblers. Some are more common than others. Use the following clues to discover a bird’s full name and its rarity.

1. The puce-shouldered bird is the most common and is either a shag or a lordcock.

2. Neither the lordcock nor the green-faced foliage-gleaner nor the bush-tit is the rarest bird.

3. The bush-tit and the lordcock are mauve-pantsed and orange-elbowed, though perhaps not in that order.

4. The mauve-pantsed bird is more common than the bush-tit and both are more common than the green-faced bird.

From rarest to most common, the answer, as you can (not so) clearly see above is, Red-Breasted Trembler, Green-Faced Foliage Gleaner, Orange-Elbowed Bush-Tit, Mauve-Pantsed Lordcock, and Puce-Shouldered Shag.

Drawn from this week's correct entries, the winner of the $50 ThinkGeek gift certificate is...an entrant who lists their name as Hieronymus Loserton. Congrats! The rest of us can use the code GEEKDAD93SF to get $10 off a $50 order.

Come back Monday to see what POTW Judd concocts next.
