This Week With the GeekMoms

Find out what's new with the GeekMoms this week.

Nicole Wakelin is planning the most epic of birthday parties for her daughter. It will involve a cupcake truck and a sugar rush she's sure other parents will love when they come to pick up their kids.

This weekend, Dakster Sullivan will be relaxing with her son, while her husband continues to fix his Jango Fett armor. Hopefully this will be the last weekend he has to spend slaving over the bounty hunter. Her son Brandon has just gotten into playing smurfs, so it's a guarantee that Dakster will be humming the tune all weekend. Hopefully they can make it out to Disney for a few hours of family fun as well.

Sarah is looking forward to making a new photobook this weekend while testing out the System 76 laptop. Having obtained a babysitter for Friday night, she will finally get her Lobster dinner and get to the movies. Hoping to stave off the Chickenpox and Strep throat that are currently ripping through the daycare, they plan to get lots of fresh air and exercise this weekend.

Rebecca Angel is currently attending a Games in Education conference and will write about it eventually, but she's also getting ready to go on vacation next week with the fam. Beach!

Patricia is enjoying more cool outings throughout Florida this week, between a trip to Morrison Springs Park, a popular freshwater snorkeling destination and a second trip to the Pensacola MESS Hall, the kids are being kept nice a busy. This weekend the family is planning a trip to Steve's Farm in the extreme northwest corner of Florida for some (easy) catfish fishing.

Kelly Knox hopes that zombies don't munch on any of her family or friends at this weekend's Run For Your Lives 5K race.

Natania is tired of being sticky and sweaty and has been having elaborate fantasies about crisp, autumn weather, apples, foliage, and long walks without the presence of marauding mosquitoes. She's in the market for some new running shoes, and hopes to actually buy some if she ever manages to leave the house.
