For eight days in September, Austin, Texas, will become the genre-film capital of the world as movie nerds gather for Fantastic Fest. To mark the occasion, artist Mike Saputo created a limited-edition festival poster (above) with the totally appropriate slogan "The End Is Nigh."
The Fantastic Fest slate this year includes plenty of new horror movies from around the world, plus time-travel thriller Looper (with director Rian Johnson and star Joseph Gordon-Levitt attending the screening) and the world premiere of Halloween-themed documentary The American Scream. Dolph Lundgren will also drop by to introduce his new Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning.
Additional to the festival entries, organizer Alamo Drafthouse will present Paul Thomas Anderson's tantalizing new "it's not really about Scientology" drama The Master in 70 millimeter at the Ritz in Austin starting Sept. 21.
Fantastic Fest runs Sept. 20 through 27.
