What would you give to rub elbows with Sheldon Cooper and his Big Bang Theory cohorts?
That's just one of the many options up for grabs in the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation's Primetime Emmy Season Online Auction. That title is kind of a mouthful, but it's all part of a pre-Emmy event that's currently being hosted by eBay.
Now, don't think that your bids are being used to fund freebies for the stars or anything. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation is actually the charitable arm of the Television Academy, and all of the auction proceeds will go to supporting education and archival programs.
Some of those programs include the College Television Awards, the Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship, the Archive of American Television, and more.
At last peek, a package with tickets to a taping of The Big Bang Theory, show memorabilia, and a tour led by Primetime Emmy-winning production designer John Shaffner was up to $1,225. There's also a Community set visit for two, which includes a signed script and plenty of other parting gifts for $1,175. VIP tickets to The Colbert Report and a little show-themed goodie bag is holding strong at $500. Also, if you have a cat from hell, you can get Jackson Galaxy, host of Animal Planet's My Cat from Hell, to show up for an in-house session for $250.
There's also a (gasp!) My Little Pony poster, with signatures from the entire cast and a letter of authenticity. It can be yours, for just $100.
Other items include front row seats for the Primetime Emmy Red Carpet Bleachers Arrivals, tickets to an HBO Primetime Emmy party, a one-on-one with the Cartoon Network Studio's Vice President of Casting and Talent Development Sharon Lieblein, and a wrap party with the cast of TNT's Leverage.
Of course, prices are subject to change, based on the auction action – so get your bid in! The event will end on August 30, 2012. The 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air September 23, 2012, on ABC.
