James Hance, one of my favorite cultural mashup artists, is bringing an image from his Wookie The Chew book to TeeFury. The site features one tee shirt every day for $10, and James’ image, titled Taking Their First Step Into A Larger Forest is one of my favorites. The shirt will only be available for 24 hours today, July 30th.
If you haven’t heard of Wookie The Chew, it’s a mashup of Star Wars and Winnie The Pooh and is a delight for kids and adults who are familiar with the source material. It’s full of all kinds of in-jokes and clever references to the Hundred Acre Wood and the Star Wars universe. I’ve previously reviewed the book last year, and highly recommend it.
Additionally, and in the interest of full disclosure, my band, The Vitrolum Republic contributed music to the forthcoming audiobook version of Wookie The Chew and an animated version is also in the works. See the below promo video for a taste of what’s to come.
