Bookshelves are one of those problems that never quite gets solved. We always need more of them, and they always need improvement: more modular, more stackable, less wall-destroying.
We spotted this stacking BrickBox system by Barcelona-based firm Kazam Design at Core77. (Kazam is the name Charles and Ray Eames gave their prototype machine that bent plywood with pressure from a bicycle pump.) The boxes interlock for stability and require no hardware to assemble.
BrickBox are a big step up from the ubiquitous Expedit bookshelf, but still simple enough that we can imagine making a modified version ourselves.
