Soccer fever (or football fever for the Old Continent) is hitting Europe pretty hard! Starting this Friday, European soccer teams will challenge each other for nearly a month to win the prized European Cup.
Despite all the surrounding enthusiasm, I really can't consider myself a soccer fan. I only watch soccer games when the teams wear the national colors, so pretty much every two years, and even worse I tend to cheer for other countries once France is out...
So why would I talk about soccer on GeekDad? Well, if you have read our posts for long enough, you should know that pretty much everything can be (and must be) hacked or receive a geek flavor. This is exactly what Graham Love, a Scot teenager from Aberdeen, UK, has accomplished.
Graham has put together this impressive stop motion video, representing the highlights of the famous European tournament, from 1984 until 2012, and this, solely using Lego bricks. I can only imagine how much time it took him to reproduce so accurately some of the most famous goals and actions of those past events.
This is just another great example of a viral Lego-based stop-motion video, as we like to see them, and it will hopefully encourage some motivated people to make some more.
We can only hope for this young stop-motion movie director that the finalists of this year Euro 2012 will make it easy for him and score only one goal...
