It was only logical.
In 2010, after several years of happily contributing to Wired.com's GeekDad blog, the four moms on staff -- Natania Barron, Kathy Ceceri, Corrina Lawson, and Jenny Williams (with the help of Wired editor-in-chief Chris Anderson and our publisher, Ken Denmead) -- struck out on our own to start GeekMom.com. Soon we had an enthusiastic and smart crew of writers, each bringing her own take on geeky parenting to the mix.
In the year and a half since then, we've tackled topics from princess role models to gender-segregated toys to girls in STEM fields. We've shared our favorite geeky books, toys, and products, laid out our various fandoms for all to see, talked about the challenges facing us as women and mothers, and shared our tips and strategies for getting through this journey we call parenthood.
Now we are extremely pleased and proud to be returning to the fold, as we bring GeekMom's brand of blogging to Wired.com. Whether or not you're a mom (or even a parent), we hope that you find our posts intriguing, thoughtful and fun. And we look forward to interacting with Wired readers, in our comments, on our Facebook page, on Twitter, on Pinterest, on Goodreads, and across the rest of the social media landscape.
So come, enjoy, and let us know what you think! We're thrilled to be here, and we hope to continue to grow and learn new things as we join our fellow geek parents and the rest of Wired's great stable of writers. On behalf of all the editors and writers, welcome to GeekMom!
