SNL Brings Back Justin Timberlake, Natalie Portman for 100th Digital Short

It’s hard to believe it’s been so long since they first rapped about lazy Sundays or took T-Pain on a boat, but Saturday Night Live’s viral video masters have reached a milestone: their 100th digital short.

It’s hard to believe it’s been so long since they first rapped about lazy Sundays or took T-Pain on a boat, but Saturday Night Live’s viral video masters have reached a milestone: their 100th digital short.

To commemorate the occasion, Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Justin Bieber (standing in for third Lonely Islander Akiva Schaffer) put together a fantastic tribute video with cameos from the stars of all their best shorts — from Timberlake putting his penis in something else to Natalie Portman rapping once again, this time with a baby and far more hair.

Also making return cameos were Mad Men’s Jon Hamm as Sergio the saxophone man and Michael Bolton doing his Jack Sparrow/Pirates of the Caribbean thing. The anniversary clip also contains many other winks to past characters — just watch.

Before the digital shorts, SNL made viral videos somewhat by accident, when show clips got passed around online and went viral. But thanks to Wired cover boy Samberg and his crew, the shorts have made digital skits part of SNL’s diet, mainstays of the Sunday and Monday morning oh-man-did-you-see-this? internet video rounds.

So, thanks guys. Here’s to 100 more.
