Here there be dragons, literally: Spoilers ahead!

Last night I broke a rule of mine. I have watched the entire season of ABC's Once Upon A Time on Hulu, days, often weeks after the episodes originally aired. Last night I dug out the bunny ears and the eight year old television, and watched the show with the rest of the country, commercials and all.

It was hard not to. When Henry walked in on Emma and that poisonous pastry last week, you knew that he was going to eat it. What you didn't know, was how he was going to be revived. He's a child so how could he possibly have true love, who could kiss him? From the second the show opened last night, we were on a roller coaster of a fairy tale journey. I half expected to have to wait until the end of the episode to see if Emma would believe or not, but it happened so quickly and I'm glad it did. The revelation that the Queen had Maleficent, as the dragon, imprisoned underneath that small town in Maine was without a doubt one of the highlights of the season. That Emma, who had only believed for about ten minutes, now had to slay that dragon was just beautiful.

Henry's spell breaking true love turned out to be completely appropriate for mother's day. When his true mother kissed him goodbye, the kiss not only awakened Henry from his Snow White slumber, it also broke the Queen's curse, or did it? As Emma so appropriately pointed out, minutes after we had all posed the same question, if the curse was broken, why were they all still there? The Queen's curse engulfed the other realm in a cloud of black smoke, last night the curse being broken saw a similar cloud of purple smoke billow through my home state. Yet, given the look on the faces of both Rumplestiltskin and the Queen, I doubt there is going to be a happy ending just yet.

I had wondered at the beginning of the series, along with many, how they could possibly extend this show beyond one season. I assumed they would do a one season wonder, something to sit with The 10th Kingdomand Tin Man on my shelves. Maybe Emma wouldn't be made to believe until season three? Well as of last night, we have our answer; instead of sending the fairy tale characters back to their world, their world will come to us and magic will arrive in the real world. The Queen will be powerful again, Rumple will be powerful again and everyone else? Will they be able to leave Storybrooke now, even for a day trip for Whoopie Pies? Well that's what will keep me coming back to Hulu next season.

The episode was full of season ending highlights, Jefferson's revenge through Belle's reunion with Rumple, Jamie Dornan's reappearance, the Blue Fairy telling Regina to hide. What was your favorite Once Upon a Time moment?
