Across the day over 300 people in Melbourne, Australia helped build a giant Lego Autism Awareness Ribbon of over 6,000 pieces, mainly 1x2 bricks in yellow, red and blue.Rob Deakin of ASDAid, an organization supporting and exploring the benefits of Lego therapy for children on the spectrum, said:> We just wanted to demonstrate what happens when you get people to play with Lego together. I just asked people to turn up and we crowd sourced the design and this awesome creation emerged. It was great to see ASD kids and the rest of the community building together.

Rob has indicated that he and others have started planning for a world wide event with Lego Users Groups around the globe for World Autism Awareness Day in 2013. So, stay tuned.
