I love Skylanders. And I love it when kids write cool things. And I love prize packages. Put all those things together and you have our GeekMom "If I Were a Skylanders" writing contest. The winner will get a prize pack worth over $75! The prize pack includes 7 figures and a carrying case. The figures include three new characters (Warnado, Camo, and Wham-shell) and four legendary characters (Trigger Happy, Spyro, Bash, and Chop Chop).

The winner's carrying case (figures not included).

Here's what to do. Dream up a new and awesome Skylander, and tell us the following information about your new character.

  • Skylander Name
  • Element
  • Power(s)
  • A few sentences about why this character is awesome, and how your character would be useful in the Skylanders' universe.
  • Optional: Picture of your Skylander
  • Please include the first name and age of the person writing. This contest is open to Skylanders fans of all ages.

My six-year-old Skylanders fan did a sample entry:

My six-year-old's depiction of her new character, Woodbomb.

Name: Woodbomb

Element: Life

Power: Shoots log bombs

Once the log bombs hit a bad guy, they explode. It only takes one to kill a full bad guy, unless it's an extra big bad guy. Her wheels help her move around faster so if a bad guy tries to attack her she could move away from them really fast. Where I got the idea of what she looks like from Stealth Elf and Hex because they have alien-looking eyes and I think that looked really cool so I wanted this one to look like it, too.

A few of my fellow GeekMoms and I will judge the entries for creativity, originality, and usefulness in the game. We will score on a curve based on age so that a six-year-old and a sixty-six-year-old each has a chance.

Send your entry by 8:00 PM EST on Tuesday, April 10, and we'll announce a winner later that week.

There are three ways to enter:

  1. Write your entry as a comment on this post.
  2. Write your entry and upload a picture (optional) to the GeekMom Facebook page.
  3. Email your entry to me.

Good luck!
