Fans of The Big Bang Theory, prepare yourself for the moment you always thought impossible: Sheldon Cooper is about to be humbled.

What could possibly cause such an unbelievable event, you ask? How about a cameo appearance from Stephen Hawking?

Famed British theoretical physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking will stop by the University to share his beautiful mind with his most ardent admirer, Sheldon Cooper, on The Big Bang Theory, Thursday, April 5.

"When people would ask us who a 'dream guest star' for the show would be, we would always joke and say Stephen Hawking – knowing that it was a long shot of astronomical proportions," said Executive Producer Bill Prady. "In fact, we're not exactly sure how we got him. It's the kind of mystery that could only be understood by, say, a Stephen Hawking."

Hawking joins a number of other high-profile guests who have appeared on the show, including Leonard Nimoy, Wil Wheaton, Brent Spiner, Stan Lee, George Takei, Katee Sackhoff, Steve Wozniak.

This is not the first pop culture appearance for Professor Hawking; he has previously made cameo appearances on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Futurama, and The Simpsons (and yes, the last two are a bit of a stretch, given that they are cartoons and Hawking uses a synthesizer to generate his voicework, but let's not get picky here).
