Double Fine Productions has officially ended its Kickstarter project to raise funds for its upcoming point-and-click adventure game, tentatively titled "Double Fine Adventure," the company said Tuesday.
Since the developer originally announced "Double Fine Adventure" on February 8, it has raised a total of $3,336,371 in donations from supporters. It will release the new game through Steam on PC and Mac, and on Linux, iOS and Android devices.
87,142 backers have pledged funds to help develop the game. Supporters will receive special rewards depending on the amount of their donation including a final version of the game, exclusive access to the beta and lunch with Double Fine's Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert in San Francisco.
The "Double Fine Adventure" project is the biggest Kickstarter ever by a factor of nearly $2 million.
