Hold up, rewind. You want to know the truth? Once you get the hang of it, feeding your baby (breast or otherwise) is boring. Yes, it's a a beautiful natural act. Yes, I was happy to look down at my little angel looking so peacefully content. But that still doesn't it make it any more interesting than staring at a wall. Eventually, one must find some way to pass the time because you can only stare at your baby for so long before you go cuckoo in the head.

We GeekMoms have shocking confessions to make about how we kept our sanity when we weren't gazing at our precious bundles of joy:

  • I played Halo to pass time while breastfeeding… Probably not the weirdest someone has ever done while playing online games!
  • I surfed the Web while I pumped.
  • I learned how to play World of Warcraft one handed while breastfeeding.
  • I watched episodes of Voyager my dad taped for me, since I had no TV reception. I watched those shows over and over.
  • I was writing my X-Men screenplay.
  • I set up our family's first WiFi network.
  • I blogged on my iPhone while I pumped at work.
  • I watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series from the beginning.
  • I read Harry Potter book 5. Hard to balance on the boppy while giving her a bottle!
  • I watched Season 1 and 2 of Lost.
  • I nursed my way through Mass Effect 2. Luckily our daughter tended to nap after nursing so I got some good play time in.
  • I read while breast feeding... Science fiction, fantasy, or whatever was around.
  • I read Slaughterhouse V while nursing and then the entire Twilight series while pumping.
  • My husband watched Farscape straight through on late newborn nights, I watched The West Wing.
  • I breastfed my way through the first half of the Jim Butcher's Dresden series.
