Nintendo's popular brain-training games will continue on 3DS with a new entry in the series based around what it calls "Demon Training," the company said on Wednesday.

Produced in partnership with neuroscientist Ryuta Kawashima, the Brain Age games on Nintendo DS lured in older gamers with the promise of activities that keep their brains young.

This time around, Nintendo says it will go after younger people as well with the new game, which promises to help improve one's concentration and "working memory." It defines the latter as "the system where information that enters the brain is held temporarily as it is manipulated and used."

Since these exercises were found to be quite difficult, Nintendo is framing them as "demonic," giving the normally happy digital head of Dr. Kawashima devil horns and a mocking grin.

Nintendo said it will release the new game this summer in Japan, and will announce its final title and other specifics later. No U.S. or European launch plans were announced.

The two Brain Age games sold over 31 million copies combined, roughly equivalent to the lifetime sales of the Assassin's Creed or Street Fighter series.
