Shot documentary-style in Romania, The Devil Inside puts a fresh spin on the old demonic-possession theme by following a young woman who believes her mother brutally murdered three people in a fit of insanity. Turns out the carnage happened during an exorcism.
Though marketed and distributed by Paramount, The Devil Inside was created outside the studio system by Brent Bell and Matt Peterman, who raised the money and wrote the film together. Once production began, Bell served as director and editor while Peterman produced.
