The CES fire-hose of news has spurted into life early, with Fujifilm announcing an entire camera-shop's worth of new compact and superzoom hybrid cameras. And every single one of them is a ho-hum release.

Ironic, then, that the most interesting camera news today comes in the shape of a Fujifilm rumor. Photos and specs have leaked out for the X-Pro1, the interchangeable-lens version of the retro styled X100.

As you can see in the almost useless photo above, the X-Pro1 keeps the film-camera good looks of the X100, along with the APS-C-sized sensor. It adds a brand new lens mount to which you will be able to connect one of three new lenses: an 18mm ƒ2 (27mm equivalent), a 35mm ƒ1.4 (53mm equivalent) and 60mm ƒ2.4 (90mm equivalent).

The camera will use a 16MP sensor, and will also come with an updated version of the innovative optical/electronic hybrid viewfinder found in the X100 (arguably that camera's best feature).

As befits a rather sketchy leaked press release, there is no price or launch date. My money is on an official announcement next week, though. Fujifilm may have announced its boring updates today to clear the decks for a loud and clear message during CES. I can't wait.
