Rebecca is getting ready for a gig tonight with her daughter, they have been practicing some original songs and Pirate Carols and whatnot. Then this weekend is the concert for her homeschooling choir, where they are singing songs about The Good Life-- some of them originals by the kids! It's busy, crazy, and full of music, so Rebecca is happy.

Last week Geekmom Andrea attended the TEDxWomen event at the Paley Center in Manhattan and was able to listen to talks by some of the most amazing women on the planet, including Gloria Steinem, Jennifer Seibel Newsom , Barbara Streisand, Jane Fonda, and Lisa Ling. She is still recovering from the statement that "vaginas age" while embracing the idea of a woman's "third act."

In between making aterrible gingerbread house and doing increasingly frantic online shopping, Ellen got swept away by Lev Grossman's The Magicians and added its sequel, The Magician King, to her holiday wish list.

Kris Bordessa is busy helping her eldest son tackle college admissions paperwork, teaching her youngest son how to sew, and trying to revive her barely passable crocheting skills. Next up? Holiday fudge!

Nicole Wakelin is installing a new microwave this weekend and plans on making lots of popcorn. It'll be like that scene in Real Genius, but without the lasers. Maybe.

Helene has been busily working on updating Lady Astrid's Laboratory with new experiments and science lessons after having taken a hiatus to potty-train her son. She is busily getting ready for Christmas and loving her boys' reactions to the upcoming holiday.

Even though it doesn't feel like Christmas in New England as yet, Corrina put up all her Christmas decorations last weekend and will buy a tree to decorate this weekend. If the power doesn't go out once again, as it did Thursday morning. This after an 11-day outage in November, now known in her house as the Snowstorm That Cancelled Halloween.

Sarah has finished watching her Harry Potter box set and is wondering whether or not to tackle Lord of the Rings next. She is also contemplating making Ninja Turtle hats for everyone this Christmas even though it's in two weeks time. In the meantime, at 28 weeks pregnant, she feels like a punching bag and greatly sympathizes with Officer Kane.

Brigid is working on a new printable holiday craft for this Month's GeekMom Printable Fun. Maybe gift tags. What do you think?

Chaos Mandy is going to be spending her Saturday at her best friend's house doing something she loves--rolling up a new character for a new Hero Games campaign. She is going to be playing a sassy ship captain with a secret she doesn't even know in her past. It should be a great way to spend a cold Saturday afternoon.

Cathé has been busy attending workshops to complete her kids' handmade geeky Christmas gifts this year. She is currently balancing holiday planning and Pokémon tournament planning.
