A couple of New York Geeks have just launched a Space Invader Chocolate Bar! The website goes into great detail about the full production process. This is no "melted down beans" purchased from your local store - this chocolate bar is made from scratch. The mold was designed in 3D CAD, single origin Costa Rican cocoa beans are sorted by hand and the chocolate roasted, ground and tempered all on site.
The creators have also indicated they intend to make the mold and chocolate recipe open source, so that anyone who has the inclination can get the satisfaction of creating and then demolishing by mouth their own edible Space Invaders.
If you are not up to tempering your own chocolate, you can order your own special edition Chocolate Space Invader in its own laser engraved wooden box for $20.
