Colorful, blocky and plastic, just like that other Scandinavian favorite, Lego

You are, I presume, familiar with the "Hipster Cyst," or Knog Frog, the blobby, minimal clip-on bike lights favored by fixed-gear aficionados the world over. But what if these Aussie lamps were given a Scandinavian makeover?

Then you'd get something very much like the Bookman light, from the Stockholm-based Bookman. The lamps are about as simple as it is possible to be: a rectangular plastic block with a slightly concave cutout to hug a handlebar and a groove to grab an elastic cord; an oversized rubber button for gloved hands and an LED lamp protruding from the front.

You can choose from fast and slow flashing patterns, or a continuous beam, and the lights run off two CR2032 button cells in each unit. And at just €20 ($26) for a pair, you should just buy a pack and toss the lights into your trendy messenger bag until you need them.
