The Vapur is like a regular water bottle, except it takes up almost no space when empty

The environmentally-,minded amongst us know that a regular plastic water bottle, the kind that comes free when you buy the overpriced bottled water within, is a pretty good reusable water container when used in conjunction with a faucet.

However, this still involved the gas required to transport one kilogram (2.2 pounds) of water for every liter (2.1 pints) of bottle space. And the bulky bottles are likely to be tossed simply so they don't take up space in your bag.

Enter the Vapur, a tough, portable, foldable water bag. The Vapur is designed to roll up and fit in a pocket when not in use, and yet remain stiff and standing upright when it has water inside. Made from an internal layer of polyethythene covered with two layers of nylon, the Vapur "anti-bottle" also ships with a carabiner for hanging from bags, just like those aluminum SIG bottles.

The bags can be frozen, can carry boiling water and will even stay open when dishwasher-ed. And taking a leaf from the lamer chapters of Apple's playbook, you can get iPhone-sock-a-like "sweaters" to keep the Vapur cosy.

The prices are similar to what you'd pay for most other kinds of water bottles, and the half-liter start at $10. Replacement caps and nasty artist-decorated versions are also available.
