On the off chance you missed Neil Gaiman’s episode of The Simpsons last week, it’s now available on Hulu. Back when Gaiman spoke to the press about the tween-lit-themed episode, he teased that the young-adult book he and Homer Simpson’s crew create would revolve around trolls, but didn’t offer much else. Now we can watch his clever handiwork over and over again.
In the episode, Homer, Bart and a rag-tag group of Simpsons odds-and-ends characters team up with Gaiman to produce a book about teen trolls and then — when the publisher tries to change it — engage in an Ocean’s Eleven-esque plot to get their original version in bookstores (their publishing partner is voiced by Andy Garcia, naturally).
Everything about Gaiman’s cameo is awesome, right down to his closing quote: “I’ve heisted my way to the best-seller list once again, and the most brilliant part is I don’t even know how to read!”
Watch the episode above — “The Book Job” will probably only be up for a couple weeks, so get on it — then hit the comments to let us know what you think of Gaiman’s “British Fonzie” acting skills.
