GeekDad is a big fan of Tin Man Games' Gamebook Adventures, they bring back the 1980s fun of Choose Your Own Adventure and Steve Jackson's Fighting Fantasy books to mobile devices. Gamebook Adventures plot lines are really engaging, the stories well written and their game mechanics are pretty simple and solid. So, we are very excited to hear that Tin Man Games have just announced a deal with Rebellion to create the first ever interactive digital gamebook based on the 2000 AD character, Judge Dredd.
Using their successful Gamebook Adventures technology, Tin Man Games will be working closely with some of the team responsible for the most recent Judge Dredd tabletop role-playing game "We're privileged to be working with a great group of writers and artists that really understand the Judge Dredd universe", said Creative Director, Neil Rennison.
Of course, this GeekDad is also a little biased because Tin Man Games is an Australian-based developer and it is great to see excellent concepts and platforms being aligned to entertaining and respected characters. Great work guys.
The, as yet, untitled Judge Dredd® gamebook will be available to download from the App Store in Q2 2012 and will cost USD$4.99. It will also appear on Android platforms later that year.
