HipTrax is back with a little post-Halloween treat! This episode features a trio of tracks that, while not our typical spooktastic fare, do have a definite lean toward the eerie and the otherworldly.

Cower before:

Skeksis Back” by the great Luke Ski

Inspired by the Nerdist podcast, written and recorded by Luke and embraced by Dark Crystal dorks everywhere, this one’s got just the right blend of freaky and funny to make it appropriate. Oh, there’s also a music video, which you kind of have to see to believe.

“****After Midnight (feat. Cam the Wizzard)” by The Garthim-Master

With the help of German producer DJ Extend, Canadian hip-hopper The Garthim-Master recently released the musical pop culture explosion that is Ghosts of Nostalgia. Taking on all comers, from Star Wars to The Watchmen to Heroes, it’s a surreal trip down memory lane that’s freely available via Bandcamp.

Frozen” by Supercommuter

Seattle chip-hoppers Supercommuter are still riding high on the critical acclaim of their August release Products of Science. It boasts songs for all tastes — from the autobiographic to the delightfully outlandish — including tragic space gothic “Frozen,” a tale of love lost and cryogenic stasis gone wrong.
