On Saturday, the ArtPlay space in Melbourne, Australia will be filled with 500kg of Lego bricks, and for one week the children in the Melbourne will be asked to come and build their vision of a sustainable green city at the LEGO Education Build the Change event at ArtPlay in Birrarung Marr.

The Green City of the Future event is designed to give visiting schools and the general public an opportunity to build the change they want to see for their city. The event is a co-operation between Lego Education, The Danish Art Agency and ArtPlay. It coincides with the State of Green – Join the Future. Think Denmark trade delegation.

News has it that Australia's own Lego Certified Professional, Ryan McNaught will be there to lend a hand and create his own commissioned piece. So, if you are a GeekDad reader from my home town of Melbourne make sure you get on down to Birrarung Marr this weekend when it is open to the public and get building. From Monday the event is open to school groups who will be doing what all good schools should be doing, including Lego in the curriculum. If all goes well, GeekDad will have some photos of proceedings next week.
