Nerd rock band I Fight Dragons is coming strong with a new album and a brand spanking new video, premiering right here on GeekDad. That's right folks. The video is for their single "The Geeks Will Inherit the Earth" which you may have seen some live footage from Nerdapalooza 2011. I Fight Dragons is a rare act, transcending both nerd rock and mainstream alternative rock, allowing them a wide range of fans. Their music is pop rock infused with a smirk in the lyrics and a chip-tune soundtrack. The new video will lead into a fantastic album, which will be reviewed here in the coming weeks. The debut album from I Fight Dragons is called KABOOM! and will be on sale October 24th, available for pre-order now.

The video for "The Geeks Will Inherit the Earth" is a testament to old school text gaming. Says lead singer/guitarist Brian Mazzaferri; "The video was made over the course of about 2 weeks by David McKay who works at our label, Photo Finish Records. We asked him to make it look like an old Apple IIe, with the beige CRT frame and green-only text, and to make it seem like the words were being typed as they were said, Doogie Howser-style. And of course, there's the epic game of Pong which I Fight Dragons dominates. It's an interesting fact to note that the Pong match in the video was recorded live as a show match in Grand Central Station in New York City in a glass case suspended above the main Terminal, ok that bit isn't true."
