ParaNorman Sneak Peek: Norman's Non-Normal World

Just in time for Halloween, a sneak-peek video offers a few clues about the upcoming zombie film from Laika, the animation studio that made Coraline.

The clip doesn’t necessarily give many more hints about the misunderstood-boy-saves-town-from-zombies plot, but it does show just how lush and cool-looking this stop-motion 3-D film is going to be. It also shows that there may be more than just zombies afoot in Norman’s town.

What else do we know about ParaNorman? What Laika will say is that the movie will be a “comedy thriller” in which a small town calls upon a young man — Norman — who has the uncanny ability to speak with the dead. Norman must use this unnatural skill to save his town from a curse that’s hundreds of years old.

In other words, we can’t wait.

ParaNorman hits theaters Aug. 17, 2012.
