Things get pretty blood pretty fast in this NSFW trailer for The ABCs of Death, which hits viewers over the head with a variety of wildly creative fatalities. There’s plenty of red splatter (although at least some of it is ketchup.)
The upcoming anthology movie, slated for 2012 release, will feature horror shorts from 25 hot genre-film directors, plus one “wildcard” filmmaker chosen in part by online voters. The search for the 26th director has yielded 170 short films submitted by filmmakers from around the world, according to a press release for the project.
“The number of entries exceeded all expectations and so did the level of creativity and imagination on display,” said producers Ant Timpson and Tim League in the release. “The talent shown in several submissions has been world-class and foretells of a great future for horror cinema.”
Looking for some cheap thrills this weekend? Watch shorts submitted and vote for your favorites on the ABCs of Death website. Voting ends, appropriately enough, on Oct. 31.
