It's ripe pickings for zombie fanatics who can't wait for new episodes of The Walking Dead.

In advance of the upcoming season premiere, AMC is launching a series of six Walking Dead webisodes on Monday devoted to flesh-eating "Bicycle Girl" Hannah (Lilli Birdsell). And for those who like more old-school media, there's a gore-filled companion book slated to hit book stores on Tuesday.

Authored by Paul Ruditis, The Walking Dead Chronicles: The Official Companion Book includes interviews, storyboards, and excerpts of scripts detailing the adventures of sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his band of zombie escapees. The book is also packed with stunt unit photos and page-to-screen comparisons contrasting Robert Kirkman's original graphic novel sequences to their TV adaptations.

Wired.com is teaming with publisher Abrams Books to give away one free copy of the The Walking Dead Chronicles. To qualify for the contest, comment below on the following question: What's scarier zombies or vampires?

Deadline to enter is 12:01 a.m. Pacific on Oct. 5, 2011. One randomly selected winner will be notified by e-mail or Twitter. Winners must live in the United States.

Note: If you do not have an e-mail address or Twitter handle associated with your Disqus login, you must include contact information in your comment to be eligible. Any winner who does not respond to Wired’s notification within 72 hours will forfeit the prize.

The Walking Dead premieres Oct. 16 at 9 p.m./8 p.m. Central on AMC.
