When director Guy Ritchie and Robert Downey Jr. made Sherlock Holmes, they rebuilt the Victorian sleuth as a bare-chested brawler while leaving his razor-sharp wit intact.

As Ritchie puts final touches on the sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, fans can take a two-and-a-half minute cram course in the Ritchie school of wisecracking mayhem thanks to this anthology tribute clip stitched together by 17-year old Dutch film student Kees van Dijkhuizen Jr. (above).

The montage of greatest hits (literally) excerpts bloody bits and funny punchlines from Ritchie thrillers including Snatch, RocknRolla, and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. While these roughneck thugs are less refined than Downey's Holmes, all of Ritchie's characters radiate the nerve-wracking sense that somehting awful is about to happen.

*Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows *opens December 16.
