TOKYO – Thinking of becoming the proud owner of a PlayStation Vita? You'll probably need all of this stuff to go with it.
Sony unveiled its official line of accessories for its upcoming handheld game system at a press conference in Tokyo on Wednesday. PS Vita will launch on December 17 in Japan, and so will most of these accessories. Sony gave the prices of the accessories in yen. The current exchange rate is about $1.30 to 100 yen, but the prices of these accessories outside Japan should end up being slightly cheaper.
In addition to the pictured accessories, Sony said that PlayStation Vita will use proprietary memory cards to store saved data and downloaded games. Launch prices of these cards will range from 2,200 yen for a 4 GB card to 9,500 yen for a 32 GB card.
Sony is also producing a Portable Charger for PS Vita, essentially a spare battery that you can carry around with you. Considering the graphics that this game system is pushing and its 3G connection, you'll probably need it.
