Regardless of whether you're excited for the new Muppets movie or not, you have to admit the parody trailers for the upcoming film are stellar.
The latest is a riff on the nail-biting trailer from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It makes The Muppets look like it could be the most fun thing to hit the multiplex this year.
"The Pig With the Froggy Tattoo" shows how a little smart editing can make a film about a group of puppets who try to save their theater from some money-hungry bastard look like film noir. But the real highlight is the soundtrack, which the text notes had to be created by some random guy because they couldn't score the rights to the Trent Reznor and Karen O cover of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song," which so effectively drives the Dragon Tattoo trailer.
Bravo, Muppets. Bravo.
The Muppets, starring Amy Adams, Jason Segel and Chris Cooper, opens Nov. 23. Director David Fincher's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, opens Dec. 21.
