Aliens get it on in a new "speculative science" project that imagines erotic life in other galaxies. In the clip embedded above, quirky animations and paintings show wild scenarios about how intergalactic life forms might copulate.
Images are excerpted from Institute of Extraterrestrial Sexuality and Encyclopedia Destructica's work in progress, a book and DVD package called Strange Attractors: NonHumanoid Extraterrestrial Sexualities.
To raise completion funds, a Kickstarter campaign has been launched which promises a "field researcher" credit to anybody who contributes $50 or more.
The Strange Attractors mission statement spells out the concept that inspired 69 contributing artists, filmmakers and writers. "While science fiction literature and film have often touched on alien sexuality, these encounters are almost always represented as between a human and a humanoid alien."
The project goes "beyond the anthropomorphic to erotic possibilities as vastly varied as the universe itself. Discover what kinds of sentient beings, what types of sexualities, how many erogenous zones and types of erotic pleasure might exist out there in the universe!"
