It's a fact of life, and the subject of many debates, that pirates hate ninja, and ninja hate pirates. It's a rivalry that goes back to the beginning of life, when the primordial ooze ninja clan got into a great battle with the primordial ooze pirate clan over the profits included with splitting molecules of treasure. I'm not sure if that made any sense, but I think my point is clear. At Nerdapalooza 2011, this rivalry was brought into the light as there was a great ninja vs. pirate battle between the pirates of Captain Dan & the Scurvy Crew and the ninjas of the Krondor Krew. No matter who you were rooting for, it was a bloody and violent battle with plenty of slit throats and fancy sword play. Or it was a goofy time with foam swords and false bravado. Depends on how you want to look at it.

During the Captain Dan & the Scurvy Crew's live set (on the GeekDad stage) there were some intermittent mic problems with Captain Dan's wireless mic. However, he made it work with plenty of crowd interaction and high energy on stage. This is always a great group to see live and if you are in the South Florida area I highly suggest getting out to see them sometime. Plus, Captain Dan does a lot of pirate festivals aimed at kids (where he's a nice pirate, instead of a ninja hating pirate.) The following video is their live performance of their brand new song called appropriately enough, "Ninja Hater." Which justifies the last two paragraphs of text.
