Here we go: After lots of speculation, Electronic Arts has officially announced a subscription plan for its sports games.
The EA Sports Season Ticket will cost $25 per year and be available to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 gamers. Perks include the ability to play Madden 12 and other games three days before the general public at no extra charge. You'll be able to download the game to your console and play it until it is released, at which time you'll have to go out and buy a copy.
Other perks of the Season Ticket program include a 20% discount on all downloadable content for all EA Sports titles and "free premium Web content."
Games included in the package also include the FIFA, Tiger Woods PGA Tour and NCAA Football franchises.
EA's chief rival Activision said this year that it would introduce a subscription service for its Call of Duty shooters called Elite.
