Prehistoric Beasts Run Wild in Dinosaur Revolution

For those who can’t wait three years for Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park 4 to make it to theaters, an upcoming TV miniseries serves up a jumbo helping of CGI-generated prehistoric creatures.

The clip for Discovery Channel’s Dinosaur Revolution, embedded above, brings to life unusually agile predators and airborne shots of the Volaticotherium antiquum flying squirrel. The two-part series also digitally re-imagines a Gigantoraptor mating dance and the underwater birthing of a humongous marine reptile known as a Mosasaurus, among other prehistoric nature scenes.

Artists including David Krentz (John Carter of Mars), Ricardo Delgado (Dark Horse Comics’ Age of Reptiles) and Iain McCaig (Star Wars) contribute to the computer-generated animations.

Dinosaur Revolution airs Sept. 4 and Sept. 11 at 9 p.m./8 p.m. Central on Discovery Channel.
