New sneak-peek photos and video from Christopher Nolan's next Batman movie show Christian Bale's Batman and Tom Hardy's roid-rager Bane going toe to toe.
Shot over the weekend, the photos were taken during The Dark Knight Rises filming in Pittsburgh. In the video above, Batman and Bane battle amid a chaotic riot scene.
Without benefit of cinematic tricks, the images look pretty bland. To start, Bane definitely looks too small and way too clothed to be scary. But these days, Nolan's vision is a better bet than trusting in U.S. Treasuries. We've little doubt he'll come through with a feature that rivals The Dark Knight.
Making her Dark Knight Rises debut in the photos is Inception's Marion Cotillard, who plays Wayne Enterprises board member Miranda Tate, in a costume that looks like it was lifted from the set of Firefly. And then there is the heinous-looking Tumbler she climbs out of. The vehicle's ludicrous desert camouflage fits Gotham City's tech-noir chiaroscuro like George Clooney fit the Bat-codpiece in Joel Schumacher's treasonous Batman & Robin.
